Wide Awake Bakery
Wide Awake makes the best bread that we've ever tasted. Every week they stop by the mill to pick up flour and bring us gifts from the bench and oven. Their bread plucks at the strings of each one of our senses; the color, the smell, their lightness and crunch… but it also strums on our pride. Because we know that our hard work, and the farmers hard work, contributed to this beauty. We can see in our hands that we’re doing well.

Stefan Senders is a baking artist and community philosopher. He gives us feedback about how our flour performs, and he lets us know when we’ve achieved something truly interesting. The bakery delivers fresh baked bread for each miller and their family every Tuesday, and we are grateful that this is our bread and our community. Because Wide Awake has always used bread to build that community— the people, the food, the music, the land, the water…the whole big thing of it.
